This year, a new workshop format was trialled, where in person and virtual attendees were given the opportunity to break out into smaller groups to deep dive into specific topics, facilitated by the IC-ENC team. Spread across the three-day conference, four workshops took place where the focus topics included Members’ Challenges and ENC / S-101 Future Services (Day One), Future Distribution Service (Day Two) as well as IC-ENC Operations and Finances (Day Three). All workshops were well received, with valued, inspiring contributions from all Members.

Discussion group workshops

The conference commenced with insightful presentations on the future of S-100 services, production support and the wide variety of training on offer to Members, as well as a thought-provoking presentation from United States regarding how NOAA is in the process of cancelling all traditional paper charts in favour of producing paper charts from ENC source.

The second day was dedicated to distribution and revenue management where the IC-ENC Distribution Manger shared updates regarding the ECD Service, Assurance Activities, looking to the future and much more. SC also heard from Belgium regarding the important topic, ECD Services for Belgian leisure craft.

On the evening of day two, Pushidrosal treated in person attendees to a traditional Balinese feast, complete with an enchanting Legong dance performance.

Türkiye also delivered an inspiring report regarding the recent MBSHC event in Istanbul, whilst Spain and Egypt shared their collaborated proposal "Using HO’s own ENC revenue to best effect".

Day two of SC25

This conference not only highlighted the significance of global collaboration but also set a precedent for future meetings.  The collective efforts and shared experiences over the three days lay a strong foundation for continued mutual support among Member countries.

The SC25 report is currently being drafted and will be circulated to Members shortly.
