Technical Conference

The Technical Conference was established in 2015 and is a subordinate body of the IC-ENC Steering Committee. It provides a forum for reviewing and enhancing all technical aspects of the creation, content, quality control and application of the ENC data produced by the IC-ENC Members, with the ultimate aim of achieving greater consistency in the quality and content of Members’ ENCs. We encourage IC-ENC Members to share their own experiences of ENC production. In addition, it is recognised that a group of this size, working in unison, can be a useful and powerful lobbying voice in areas such as technical standards development. IC-ENC also invite technical experts to these meetings, such as a representation from the IHO and Industry, this allows greater communication and collaboration between all parties.

IC-ENC hold an annual hybrid Technical Conference so that Members have the opportunity to meet face to face with the IC-ENC team and other Members, it also allows Members to participate who are unable to travel. Technical Conferences are a platform for the sharing of good practice, learning from each other and enabling IC-ENC to understand the needs of our Members at a greater scale. Where needed, IC-ENC also hold virtual only Technical Conferences to update on certain topics throughout the year. The success of these events falls heavily on the active participation of the delegates and IC-ENC team delivering each event.
