IC-ENC host second Technical Conference of 2022

Last week we held our second Technical Conference of 2022 which was attended by 49 attendees across 25 members, plus three observers from the IHO community.

This event focused on an update on the recent ECDIS safety study and discussions on High Density (HD) ENCs. We had a brief from CSMArt who clearly articulated the user benefits of additional bathymetric information for safe navigation, and then the group considered and discussed the various barriers to HD ENC production for ENC producers, and identified areas to continue to work together to support greater production of HD ENCs.

The next Technical Conference will take place on Tuesday 26th April and will focus on S-101, ENC conversion and ENC gridding.
