Distribution

We work with Channel Partners known as either Value Added Resellers (VARs) or Distribution Partners (DPs) to manage and deliver our members’ data to end users.

Value Added Resellers

A Value Added Reseller (VAR) is a service provider appointed to deliver comprehensive end-user services under specific terms and conditions that bring together various navigational products into one complete package for use in an Electronic Chart Display & Information System (ECDIS).

We act as a single point of supply, offering consistent terms that give VARs the flexibility to offer a range of integrated services to meet the needs of their customers. By doing so, our members avoid:

  • The cost of developing and marketing their own services for global distribution

  • Appointing and managing an extensive distributor network with the associated commercial and legal requirements

  • The need for complex and expensive service delivery systems

Any company can apply to become an IC-ENC VAR through a well-established application process which is independently assessed by a VAR Assessment Panel.

To obtain ENC products from the IC-ENC folio, please contact one of our VARs.

Distribution Partners

A Distribution Partner (DP) is a service provider appointed to deliver comprehensive end-user services under specific terms and conditions that includes ENC Data converted to Own Data Format to support safe navigation by the End-User using a system that is not an Electronic Chart Display & Information System (ECDIS).

Our current Distribution Partners are:

rr-consult (operating as O-charts)

To obtain non-SOLAS data products from the IC-ENC folio, please contact one of our DPs.

We follow WEND principles set by International Hydrographic Organization.

“We endorse the principle of using an International ENC service that gets the Australian ENC to the user in the most readily accessible manner for safety of navigation. Further to this, the harmonisation and quality assessment checks conducted by IC-ENC ensure that Australian ENCs are compatible with ENCs produced by other member nations.”
